Provides confidence to handle daily living
From the studies, we can see that use ofs cognitive assistive tools gives users a feeling of control and security, support self-esteem and provides confidence in being able to plan and manage daily living on their own.
Users feel that using the tools helps them to carry out daily routines, increases their ability to maintain different roles in their life and brings with them a feeling of being just like anyone else. It prevents them from always experiencing unexpected surprises and they feel they can be in control of events, thus contributing to increased confidence and security in planning and handling of daily living on their own.
Relatives and carers experience that the users are in less need of support from other persons to carry their daily activities, they get less calls concerning time and day from the users. They think that the users get more confident in being able to plan and perform their daily living.
Users with dementia get up less during night, stop leaving their flat at night, stop disturbing neighbors, remember to take their medicines, are more calm and feel more secure.
