Abilia has closed the acquisition of Picomed AS in Norway and ITS Designs Limited (Alert-iT) in UK. The acquisition enables a stronger position for innovation of environmental control, epilepsy and care alarm solutions to people with special needs.
Picomed is a Norwegian company that offers assistive technology to people with special needs. Since the establishment in 1991, Picomed has had emphasis on specialising in the field of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) which enable control of the home environment.
Customizable environmental control solutions for home adaptation are increasingly in demand. These technical solutions not only improve quality of life but also reduces strain on care and assisted-living facilities, promoting personal independence and social sustainability.
Together, Abilia and Alert-iT, a UK based company, have a broad experience and strong expertise in care alarms, particularly epilepsy alarms. The extended offering will improve quality of life for people living with epilepsy by providing safe and reliable solutions to detect seizures.
