Why doesn’t my USB memory stick work with my Lightwriter SL40 Connect?

You can use memory sticks to transfer notes and backups between your Lightwriter and your computer. It ensures that your files are kept safe should anything happen to your Lightwriter.

The memory stick will backup your Predictions,Phrases, SMS messages, Contacts, and Notes.

If your memory stick doesn’t work then it could be that it is full, broken or needs reformatting.

Recommended Solution

  1. Ensure that there is enough space on your USB stick by moving all of the content onto your computer desktop for safekeeping. Once you have safely removed the USB stick from your computer, try again using it with the Lightwriter again.
  2. If you are still having problems then try reformatting your USB stick. Insert into your computer. Right-click on the USB stick folder icon and select Format select FAT32 and press Start.

Note - We recommend that you use the memory stick supplied with your Lightwriter SL40 Connect, although it will be perfectly compatible with some others.
